Q: How do I know if there is a chapter in my area?

A: Review the current chapter list.

Q: How many people do I need to start a chapter?

A: At least 10 current ANIA members

Q:  What board positions are needed?

A:  At least 3: President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer

Q: What requirements does the chapter need to accomplish annually?

Minimum of one business meeting and two educational meetings with or without awarding contact hours. These requirements will be prorated based upon when the chapter is formed during the calendar year.

Q: I think I may want to start a chapter, how do I get started? Who can I contact for more information?

A: Review the chapter requirements in the Chapter Policy and Procedure Manual or Email [email protected] and the national office will notify the Regional Director for your area.

There are 4 stages to chapter formation:

Phase 1: Chapter Potential Assessment – after you have your potential group members/leaders identified, you can ask [email protected] for an assessment of new group formation.

Phase 2: Petitioning Status – document your plan for group, draft bylaws and establish tax ID

Phase 3: Provisional Chapter Status – if approved, zip codes and membership region assigned

Phase 4: Full Chapter Status – after 1 year of Provisional Chapter status
